Tony Hawk shared the news on Instagram that his iconic video game will be getting re-released this fall for PC, XBox One, and PS4.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater probably holds a special place in the hearts of those who recount the days of PS1s, Dreamcast, and N64. Even the sequel that dropped on PS2's and Xbox is one of the waviest video games ever. They just don't make 'em the same anymore. Thankfully, Tony Hawk skated through with some excellent news earlier today when he hit the 'Gram to announce that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 will be getting re-released and remastered for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

With a September 4th release date set, the remastered version takes on a revamped version of a classic. The original characters, tricks and challenges will be included but they'll also be leveling up the create-a-park mode for online and multiplayer gaming modes.

The beauty of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series is that it meshed together music, skateboarding, and gaming culture together. The first two installments of the video game series, specifically, have been heralded for the soundtrack curation with the inclusion of hip-hop, punk, and much more. Many of the original songs on the soundtrack will also be included, though some didn't make the cut over licensing issues.

“The challenge of a faithful remaster is knowing where to push the boundaries, and what to keep sacred,” Simon Ebjer, COO Vicarious Visions, the company remastering THPS, said. “It’s important to capture the original experience.”
