Ferguson: "I've got a solid right hand to test that chin of his."

Tony Ferguson and Conor McGregor continue to hint at a big money bout while Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov waits out his suspension.

The two polarizing lightweights exchanged words on twitter today, just days after Ferguson posted the following, not-so-subtle, image on instagram.

Ferguson first called out “No Sauce Mcnuggets” McGregor on twitter Tuesday afternoon, describing the Irish superstar as "just a replica of a former self he used to be." Ferguson added, "I've got a solid right hand to test that chin of his."

McGregor responded:

"If we have the ability to go back, Tony. Then we have the ability to go forward again! I wish you well and am praying for you as a fellow colleague. Respect to my Paradigm familia. Yours sincerely, Burger King."

The UFC recently announced that Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier will fight for the interim Lightweight title at UFC 236, since the undefeated champ, Khabib Nurmagomedov, is still serving his suspension stemming from the post-fight brawl at UFC 229.

Holloway, the current UFC Featherweight champion, agreed to jump up to 155 pounds after Ferguson declined the opportunity to fight for the interim belt. Poirier defeated Holloway via first round submission at UFC 143 back in 2012.
