This year, we've seen producers releasing their own projects more often than usual. Since producers deserve a lot more shine than they receive on a regular basis, it's nice to see certain names bolster themselves into the spotlight. With Zaytoven, DJ Esco, Danny Wolf, and Ronny J all throwing their names in the hat, TM88 wants in on the action. The 808 Mafia producer has already announced a loaded list of collaborators for his upcoming project and it's just gotten a little spicier as he will be doing some more work with Lil Uzi Vert on it.
TM88 took to Twitter to announce that he was adding a track with Uzi to the upcoming 88 project. With the statement, he also hinted at a possible release date, giving us a timeframe on when we can expect the project to see the light of day. Noting that the label told him they would release 88 during the second week of September, the producer couldn't contain his excitement as he confidently wrote, "Project so hard bro."
Uzi is a solid addition to a group of talent so large that this could be a surprising album. With Future, Moneybagg Yo, Gunna, BlocBoy JB, Juicy J, Smokepurpp, Offset, Juice WRLD, Ty Dolla $ign, 2 Chainz, MadeinTYO, Playboi Carti and others already expected to make appearances on the tracklist, Uzi is a welcome choice. TM88 was, of course, the producer of Uzi's hit single "XO Tour Llif3" and if they could create another one of those, we're in for a treat.
