Converse has been looking to up the ante lately when it comes to the shoes in their arsenal. Most recently, Converse got back into the basketball sneaker game with the Converse All Star Pro BB which has already made its way to the market. With this release in the rearview mirror, the iconic brand has now linked up with legendary designer Tinker Hatfield for three new silhouettes in what is being called the Star Series.
These silhouettes include the BB (basketball), RN (running), and the UT (utility). Each will come in black/orange and white/orange colorways that will surely turn heads. Hatfield explained his philosophy when designing these shoes, saying he wanted to stay true to the brand.
"From a sports perspective, Converse is historically a basketball brand so I felt it was natural to create a shoe within that category. A runner is worn to work out but also worn casually, transcending the way people use and live in our products, much like how Converse has been adopted through the years. The Chukka silhouette is something that easily slides into the Converse universe; unexpected, versatile, yet familiar," Hatfield said to Sole Collector. "The pack is unique because each silhouette shares the Converse DNA of strong horizontal lines. We wanted to marry them all together, ensuring they have a familial relationship to the brand, while pushing into new spaces."
The BB and RN models will release on Tuesday, May 28th at Nike SNKRS and Converse SoHo for $75 and $95 USD respectively. If you want to cop the UT model, you'll have to wait a little later into the year.
