Yesterday it was reported that Rihanna said hell no to performing at the upcoming Superbowl halftime show as a way to show support to Colin Kaepernick and the kneeling controversy he went through with the NFL. Riri has been receiving all kinds of praise for her move and another star to champion the singer is Tinashe.
The "No Drama" singer caught up with paparazzi and they asked her what they thought about Rihanna's decision to not sing for the NFL. "If she believes in it, she believes in it," she told the crew, asking them to clarify exactly what "Kap" is. "It's important. You have to stand for something."
“The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta,” a source told US Weekly. “They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”
"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Colin previously stated. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."
