The singer was officially freed from her record deal earlier this month.

Tinashe recently split from RCA after enduring a tenuous relationship with the label. Rumors of the separation had been circulating for months before the move was made official with the artist's removal from the roster on the company website. New speculation has risen about the singer's trajectory. The latest involves a bidding war between labels. Apparently, Tinashe is being seen as an untapped fount of commercial potential.

“Label execs recognize she [Tinashe] has the potential to be a big star and generate substantial income as an R&B act, so a bidding war has started. She’s already received a number of seven-figure sum offers,” Music News & Rumors tweeted out.

The "2 On" artist had experienced a lot of challenges while working with a major label. "Things haven’t always gone according to my original plan but that’s life, and things change," she said. "However long it takes, I know I will get to my end goal. I’m never going to stop. I will make music forever."

She also spoke on how the public perceives women of color in the industry.

"Recently, my cousin was with a friend of a friend, who was in high school, and she was like: ‘I’m a fan of Kehlani,’ but in a way that was like, ‘So I can’t be a fan of Tinashe, too.’ Then my friend posed the question, ‘Why not be a fan of both?’ It’s kind of like sport; people feel like they have to pick a side," she recalled. "There are hundreds of [male] rappers that all look the same, that sound the same, but if you’re a black woman, you’re either Beyoncé or Rihanna. It’s very, very strange."
