Tierra Whack is back where she started.
The Philadelphia emcee first caught the Internet's attention in 2011 with a viral clip of her delivering an impromptu freestyle on the streets in her hometown. This year, the fruit of her hard work has come to harvest and after an impressive debut with tracks like "Mumbo Jumbo" and the Whack World EP, she's hit the road on 6LACK's East Atlanta Love Letter tour alongside other talents likes of Boogie, THEY., Deante' Hitchcock and Summer Walker.
Now, to remind us all of just why she's proving to be one of the coldest to step foot in the game as of late, Whack recently stopped by the Hot 97 offices to gift us with a freestyle via Funkmaster Flex's broadcast. Hopping over Busta Rhymes' "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See" backdrop, Whack fails to live up to her namesake and delivers on a rapid flow, laced in a beautiful mix of self-assertion and skill that would make Bus-A-Bus proud.
Notably lacking in this clip is Flex's usual overdose of enthusiasm. Bombs galore and the routine, "Everybody Can't Come Up Here" spiel are omitted this go-around but in Tierra's case, her technique is a welcome substitute. Next up, Whack will be headed to Oakland for a tour date on December 2nd before wrapping up the month with shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Atlanta.
