It looks like Netflix has comedic gold in their hands. One of their latest endeavors, Dolemite Is My Name!, is set to tell the story of Rudy Ray Moore, a legendary comedian, musician, singer, actor, and movie producer. Along with Muhammad Ali, Moore was busy laying down rhymes way before any rapper thought of creating a track. Moore popularized the character Dolemite, a sharp and articulate pimp who influenced the entire "pimping" style that you are familiar with today.
Eddie Murphy is set to play Moore, with Wesely Snipes signed on to play D'Urville Martin, an alcoholic actor and director who filmed Dolemite. Chirs Rock, Craig Robinson, Keegan-Michael Key, Mike Epps, Tituss Burgess, and Da'Vine Joy Randolph are also featured in the film, and Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow, Black Snake Moan) will helm the film. T.I. has been slowly stacking his acting resume, and he has also joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix flick. The rapper turned actor recently shared his look for Dolemite Is My Name! Rocking a perfect small afro and full facial hair, T.I. looks like he's been trapped in the 70's. He posted two pictures of himself behind the scenes in the new film, and T.I. even got Murphy to join in on the social media love.
