THEMXXLIGHT just dropped their latest single "Hold Up." This summer release comes after their appearance on Wiz Khalifa's Rolling Papers 2. The twins laid their vocals on songs like the Curren$y-featured track, "Mr. Williams." These collaborations were instrumental in introducing the formation to a whole new fanbase before the release of their upcoming album, MOOD.
Their musical follow-up is solid. "Hold Up," which comes after their other single "Start It Right," is a smooth track produced by Sledgren, the man behind the Wiz collaboration. The rapper detailed the hook up in an interview.
"Sledger put me onto them...Sledger is my partner, big homie, like my brother. He's been my producer forever [... ] We were just at the end of the album cycle or whatever. And like I said, you know, just tracks were flowing in. And he had sent me a bunch of beats and he sent me a random one with a hook from them on there. And I was like 'yo, this is crazy.' [...] We ended up recording like 4 or 5 more. And I put them all on the album because I knew that sound is...that's right now, for sure."
Quotable Lyrics
Baby girl, shut your lips
you know I can read your mind
my falsetto never miss
cause I'm spot on all the time
