The Weeknd's surprise album is predicted to hit the top of the charts.

The Weeknd took the internet by storm last week with the release of his surprise project, My Dear Melancholy. He hinted for months that he was locked in the studio and finally, the singer confirmed that we should expect from mood music from him for the weekend. There's no doubt that someone of his caliber can announce an album within less than 12 hours of its release and completely shake up the internet. It should come as no surprise that out of all the great albums that dropped on Friday, his is expected to top the charts.

Billboard reports that The Weeknd is getting ready to top the album charts this coming week. Their industry forecasters expect the album to sell 150K in its first week. If the album debuts at the top, it'll be The Weeknd's third consecutive number one album. His album Starboy also hit the top of the charts upon its release.

This will also follow his major debut on Spotify. The singer scored the largest debut of 2018 with "Call Out My Name" which hit 3.5M within its first 24 hours.

Aside from The Weeknd's debut, Rich The Kid is looking like his debut album will also be a success of the charts. They expect the album to hit within the top ten of the Billboard 200 after moving a predicted 50K within its first week.
