It looks like fans of The Weeknd have something to look forward to. Thanks to some detective work by TMZ, it turns out Abel and crew shut down some streets in California last week to shoot a music video for his next single.
Production sources told the media outlet the Weeknd took over the tiny town of Taft, California, which is about 120 miles northwest of L.A., to film the video for his new single. It’s unknown what the song will be called, but from what we can see in the clips Abel looks to be riding some sort of hover board and simply walking down the street.
The song, which will be his first solo record since he released Starboy in 2016, is rumored to be dropping next month, right before The Weeknd takes the stage Friday night as a headliner at Coachella. It will also serve as the first single off his next album, which Travis Scott says is “scary good.”
"Abel new album is scray [sic]. It’s like when I first heard him for the first time. Fuckkkkkk !!!!!" Travis Scott said of Abel’s new album, but we’ll have to wait and find out.
Check out the clip that TMZ compiled of Abel’s video shoot (below) and keep your eyes and ears peeled for its release come next month.
