It's been more than five years since The Last Of Us came out, blowing people away with its believable apocalyptic setting (especially those clicking sounds) and properly well-written story, an unfortunately rare trait for video games. Needless to say, fans have been waiting ever since for the sequel, which has been announced, teased and even more fully showcased in a gameplay trailer last year, but has not been given a release date as of yet.
That may all be changing though. A former IGN editor, Alanah Pearce, tweeted that the game will be coming out this year "100%" according to "multiple people" who've told her about it "multiple times." However, she did append a little caveat, saying it's not "set in stone" seeing that the game's release date hasn't been officially confirmed by the developer, Naughty Dog.
She later deleted the tweets, adding suspicion that she outed real information that she shouldn't have released. Either way, the game looked very polished in the gameplay video that was shown at last year's E3, half a year ago, although who knows how long it'll take to make a whole game up to those standards.
