Here’s an unlikely collab that we didn’t see coming. In a recent interview with MTV , The Game revealed that he’s working on a joint album with British singer Ed Sheeran.
The duo have worked together in the past, but decided to turn their recent studio sessions into an entire album. While no release date has been revealed, The Game did say that we should expect the project to drop later this year, or early 2015.
The Game tells MTV:
“I’m working on a joint album with Ed Sheeran that we trying to drop probably end of the year, beginning of 2015. That is gonna be crazy. It happened with a tweet. He tweeted something about Jesus Piece, I responded, we exchanged numbers on the DM, and then we got in the studio. We were just planning to record one song; we ended up doing like seven. Ed came up with the idea to start working on a joint album, and we started doing it,” Game said. “That was like in five hours. We was just going. He was on that guitar. Acoustically, he’s a genius, man, so when he does that, what comes out of me is songs like ‘Dreams’ and ‘Hate It or Love It’ and ‘My Life.’ The songs that we got, they’re real songs. And I can’t wait for people to hear ‘em.”
But what about Game’s next solo effort you ask? Not to worry fam, Game is also working on his 6th studio album as well, but if you remember, he’s currently a free agent and without a label. While the rumors were strong that Cash Money was the originally the front runner, nothing has been made official as of yet. So only time will tell when that album will see the light of the day.
What are your thoughts on this upcoming joint album?
