In case you missed it, The Cool Kids are back. Last week, the Chicago duo consisting of producer Chuck Inglish & emcee Mikey Rocks announced they were going to release a new album on September 15th called Special Edition Grand Master Deluxe, their first since 2011’s When Fish Ride Bicycles.
"The Hiatus is over. We missed being us. We refuse to let people down and not be the actual group.” Chuck tweeted out last Summer. “We been through too much. So prepare for things to go back to they were supposed to be. The Cool Kids together is what is right in the world. It's on."
"I can't say I've felt more complete as an artist than to be back with my brother to give the world what we started," Chuck added. "We really felt like we hadn't really finished what we started. They took our styles and ran off. We coming back for it all.”
Led by the previously heard singles “TV Dinner” and “Checkout,” Special Edition Grand Master Deluxe was made available for pre-order on iTunes at midnight, ultimately revealing its tracklist and artwork in the process. Laced with 17 tracks, the project will feature guest appearances from Buddy, Larry June, Travis Barker, Smoke DZA, Syd, A-Trak, & more.
Those of you who decide to take advantage of the early purchase will receive a new pre-order leak for free instantly called “9:15 PM” featuring fellow Windy City crooner Jeremih. Take a listen and let us know what you think.
In addition to the upcoming album, The Cool Kids also have a new TV show on the way called The Shit Show, which is expected to debut sometime this weekend, if not very soon. Stay tuned for that as well.
Quotable Lyrics:
And all my niggas say
I cant stand these broke ass hoes
All they do is wear chokers & charge they phones
And if the Trump campaign can run these states
Then this shit finna break and I cant wait (where my ladies?)
