If Kanye West's '"Fade" video was the first time you found out about Teyana Taylor, then just know she's been around far longer than that specific collaboration. The Harlem-born dancer, actress, model and recording artist has successfully climbed her way to the top and is now a well-known name in the industry with a GOOD Music album coming out at the end of the month.
"I feel like I’ve always given looks, so at this point, it’s just about the music,” she tells Refinery29. “I just need to give y’all what y’all been waiting for, which is the music. I don’t have a specific look for the album, or a specific anything. I just have this music that I want to get out.”
Teyana opens about her album's producer, Kanye West, and how much his words impact her. She explains how Ye always has good things to say to her when they are in each other's presence. “Not trying to be cocky, but it's all the time," she says of Kanye's compliments. “When I see him, he’s always like Yo, T, you’re so swaggy.”
Teyana says that Kanye looking at her for assistance on his endless inspirations and endeavors is the nicest thing he could do. “I think that’s pretty cool. He values my opinion," she adds.
