In the music industry, first-week sales mean everything. If that's something you care about, it could determine an album's success or failure. This year alone, we've seen stars made as Lil Baby and Gunna both went #1 with their new albums.
Atlanta rapper Lil Baby has been sitting pretty at the top spot for the last couple of weeks, despite his album having been released several months ago. He's looking set to possibly spend a third week at the top of the totem pole after Teyana Taylor and John Legend's projected numbers were revealed.
Both artists released incredible albums that you should absolutely spend some time with if you're fans of them. According to Hits Daily Double, the biggest debut of the week will go to Bob Dylan, who is expected to move up to 55,000 equivalent album units with his new album. Many of which account for pure sales. Teyana Taylor follows the legend with approximately 32,000 equivalent album units while John Legend is expected to move about 20,000 units.
If Lil Baby is able to pull the same numbers as he has been, he could potentially spend a third straight week on top of the Billboard 200. He faces a tough battle with Bob Dylan expecting around the same tally though.
Do you think he could do it?
