A formal request was entered concerning his legal name.

Tekashi 6ix9ine is facing a few ongoing legal battles, including an assault case against him. In order to put chances on his side in court proceedings, the rapper made a formal request formal request to the judge presiding over the matter.

The rap star, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, doesn't want his stage name to grace the lips of those present in court. He has asked the judge to bar prosecutors from doing so. Instead of using his alias, the prosecutors would be asked to refer to him by his legal name. The terms "accused" and "defendant" would also welcome according to the legal documents that were filed.

The defendant insists that the use of his stage name would only be leveraged against him by attaching "derogatory and satirically unflattering labels" to his character.

Tekashi's current trial involves his alleged assaulting of a 16-year-old at the Galleria Mall earlier this year. The victim claims the celebrity chocked him in January. The teen is said to have been filming a video of the New York native with his cellphone before the defendant turned around and ordered him to delete it. Then, Tekashi grabbed him by the neck.

The young artist's arraignment is set for Wednesday.
