Tee Grizzley's debut album Activated is set for release this Friday, but he already has plans for what's next. In a new interview with Rap-Up, the Detroit rapper revealed that he and Lil Yachty, who collaborated on new track "2 Vaults," as well as "Get Money Bros." and "From the D To The A," will be putting out a full project together. “After my album and after he do whatever he do, me and him are gonna drop something," he said, revealing that the tape would likely come together "right after the summer.” While a name for the project has yet to be decided, Grizzley suggested it could possibly be called "Bust Down Brothers."
Later in the interview, he spoke of how Gucci Mane and Meek Mill each inspired "First Day Out," his breakout single that was modeled in concept by Gucci's own "First Day Out," and in structure, by Meek's "Dreams & Nightmares." For this reason, he said it was only right for Meek or Gucci to appear on the remix. It ended up being Meek, and the two have continued to keep in touch right up until his recent release from prison.
He also commented on Jay-Z's statement that "First Day Out" was the "best" song out last year. “That was a big day for my career,” he said. "He’s at the top of the totem pole and he told me I had the best song. So, that just let me know to keep going. I’m doing something right.”
