Way back in December, DJ Carnage announced a joint project with Young Thug called Young Martha, which (yes) is a play off Martha Stewart’s name. Details on the project had been extremely scarce to the say the least since the announcement was first made on Twitter, but a couple weeks ago Carnage reassured to us that Martha was still on the way when he dropped off the first single & video for “Homie” with Meek Mill. Shortly after that, Carnage revealed that Young Martha would be dropping on September 22, and now after weeks of anticipation and promotion, that day has arrived and so has Young Martha.
Laced with only 4 tracks in total, the follow up Carnage’s Step Brothers project with G-Eazy & Thug’s latest album EBBTG comes with two features, Meek Mill on “Homie” & Shakka who appears on the leaked record “Dont Call Me."
Speaking with us at HNHH in a recent interview (see below), Carnage says “I wanted take like everything we love about Thug, and put steroids in that. It's just, you know, Martha Stewart, in her prime when she was making billions of dollars. She's a boss. Before she had to take that L, but when she was takin' them dubs...That was Young Martha. This whole thing is going to be so dope.”
“It’s going to be my best work yet. So Im taking time on it,” Carnage added. “I cant release some garbage. It has to be next level you already heard some of the records so ya know?”
Available now on iTunes, fans can stream the 4-song EP from Thugger & Carnage via Apple Music. Take a listen and let us know what you think. Look for more from Thugger to be on the way as well. The ATL rapper was recently spotted in the studio with Chance The Rapper, and has an upcoming collab with Nicki Minaj (which she's super excited about) coming soon. Stay tuned.
