Royce Da 5'9" and DJ Premier's "PRhyme 2" is now available for an early listen.

Those who have followed Royce Da 5'9" and DJ Premier's joint ventures since day one recognize that the partnership is fruitful. From "Boom" to "Hip-Hop" to their debut album PRhyme, Royce and Primo's proven chemistry have some dubbing them a spiritual successor to Gangstarr. Either way, both veterans have aged gracefully throughout the shifting eras, and seem to be enjoying some a stride. An early listen of the project features plenty of standouts cuts, including Yelawolf back on his rap shit on "W.O.W."

"I had nightmares of Joe Budden arguing with Lil Yachty," raps Royce, referencing his Slaughterhouse partner's infamous interview. "That young man the same age my son is, he just on fire right now, same way that my gun is." According to a conversation with NPR, Royce and Primo originally meant to bridge the gap with an appearance from Lil Uzi Vert. Unfortunately, the collaboration fell through due to scheduling issues.  And while Royce's reputation as one of the game's best lyricists precedes him, he still has love for the genre some call "mumble rap." Check his statement below:

"When you say 'mumble rap,' who are you talking about? Rappers who can't rap that well? Because there's a such thing as being really good at what you do, but you're not a lyricist. It doesn't give me the authority to critique you as a lyricist if you're not claiming to be a lyricist. It doesn't make me an expert. It just means I do one thing; you do something else."
