Fans have been patiently waiting for the release of Fabolous & Jadakiss’ Freddy Vs. Jason project since Fab first announced it way back in February of 2016, but after a couple setback & delays the wait is finally over. At the stroke of midnight, the horror-themed project, which is now being called Friday On Elm Street due to licensing issues, was made available on iTunes and digital platforms.
Laced with 12 tracks in total, the project features a star-studded lineup of guest appearances, including Future (“Stand Up”), Teyana Taylor (“Talk About It”), French Montana (“All About It”), Swizz Beatz (“Theme Music”), Styles P (“Ice Pick”), and Yo Gotti and Jeezy (“Stand Up (Remix)”). Meanwhile, production is handled by the likes of Reazy Renegade, Mally The Martian, KidExcluzive, Mark Henry & more.
Recently, Fabo spoke with Viceland’s “Desus & Mero” about the often-delayed project. “Truthfully, it was a little bit of politics,” he explained. “Sometimes it was scheduling Sometimes it was me working on other things and getting that out there. It was a lot of different factors…Even the name, Freddy Vs. Jason, we tried that for awhile, and it wasn’t happening [with] licensing. You can’t use a lot of movie stuff anymore.
To coincide with the album, it appears Fab & ‘Kiss will also be taking their talents on the road this winter for a supporting tour. “We don’t have the dates yet but we’ll let you know soon” Fab said when asked about the tour’s possible start date.
Led by the previously heard single “Stand Up” with Future, fans can now stream the project in its entirety via Apple Music. Take a listen and let us know what record you’re feeling the most? (Project available on iTunes.)
And if this isn’t enough to keep you satisfied, look out for Fabolous’ Summertime Shootout 3 mixtape to be on the way as well.
