Metro Boomin is no stranger to one rapper/one producer projects. Hell just in 2017 alone, Metro has laced beats for Gucci Mane's DropTopWop, Nav's Perfect Timing, and Offset & 21 Savage's Without Warning to name a few, but that’s not where it ends. Last week in an interview with Billboard, Metro informed us that he and Detroit rapper Big Sean have a joint album on the way called Double Or Nothing, which they later confirmed would be dropping this Friday, December 8th.
"I was born in ’93,” Metro says, “and a lot of projects [from that era] had one producer, maybe two. They sounded more cohesive -- better as a whole.”
Well with December 8th now upon us, so is Double Or Nothing. Laced with 10 tracks in total, the follow up to Sean’s I Decided features an impressive list of guest appearances, including Travis Scott, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Swae Lee, Kash Doll, and 21 Savage, the latter of which appears on the previously heard single “Pull N Wreck.” Meanwhile, production is handled entirely by Metro Boomin.
“It ain’t about status,” Sean said about the collaboration. “It’s about what you’re bringing to the table: how we’re going to progress humanity, how we’re going to give people something to work out to, to live to, to upgrade to.”
Available now on iTunes, fans can stream the project in its entirety for free thanks to the good folks at Spotify. Take a listen and let us know what record you’re feeling the most?
