Fans have been patiently waiting for the release of Action Bronson’s Blue Chips 7000 for a couple years now ever since he first announced the project on Twitter. At the time, Action said the project was coming soon, but unfortunately it had quite a few setbacks & delays that it would soon encounter due to some sample clearances & label issues. If you remember back in April, Action was so upset about the delayed prjoect that he eventually called out his label in frustration on Twitter, “Put my motherfuckin album out” he said. “Stay independent. For Fucks sake” he added.
Thankfully, cooler heads eventually prevailed & Action took the blame for his outburst & pushback, saying it was his fault for choosing such hard records to get samples cleared. “It’s all on me honestly” Action said when asked about the samples & setback. “When I use fucking samples from 1974 communist Russia it sometimes hard to find the publishing company, It never stopped me tho.”
But now, after months & even years of anticipation, Blue Chips 7000 has finally arrived. Laced with 13 records in total, the follow up to 2015’s Mr. Wonderful features guest appearances from Rick Ross, Big Body Bes, Meyhem Lauren, and Jah Tiger. Meanwhile, production is handled by Action’s go-to producers Party Supplies, Alchemist & Harry Fraud.
Blue Chips 7000 serves as the third & final installment in Action’s mixtape series, following up the original Blue Chips tape in 2012 & Blue Chips 2 in 2013.
Led by the previously heard singles “Durag Vs. HEadband,” “Let ME BReathe” & “9-24-7000” with Rick Ross, fans can now stream the rest of the project in its entirety thanks to the good folks at Spotify. Hit play and let us know record you’re feeling the most?
