The new release from Starlito is, as its title suggests, introspective. There is not a banger to be heard on this laid-back and morose album, which switches moods from regret ("Really mad at myself for not showing you more love"), to alienation, to boredom, to weariness to "Crying In The Car," as one of the songs is titled.
What holds At WAR With Myself Too together is the standout lyrics which plod on, despite everything, with calm creativity, like in his song "Grudge 2.0" where he holds a grudge against himself:
I cant sleep, that's how I be some nights
roll the leaf and i need a light
load a beat and i speak on life
rolled the streets and seen police lights
so i go home
looked in the mirror and i didn't know him
The 11 songs are a sequel to Starlito's 2016 tape At War With Myself and comes after a busy year in 2017, where he released eight mixtapes. Listen to the project below:
