Spice's rollout for her new track caused major ruckus online. There was an outcry against her alleged practice of skin bleaching prompted by a photo of the artist who appeared with significantly lighter skin than usual. The Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star had wiped her IG account of her dark skin and uploaded the controversial picture with a coy caption: "Nothing wrong with a fresh start."
After having fans question her self-love and sanity, Spice surprises us all with the release of "Black Hypocrisy" and its music video.
Her intentions are clear from the very beginning of the clip she co-directed with Xtreme Arts. The video is introduced with an Afro-feminist statement inspired by Martin Luther King's most popular speech.
"I had a dream that one day Black women will start supporting each other rather than bashing each other. Ladies, never forget that you are beautiful, lovely, attractive, courageous and kind. I am dripping melanin with honey. I'm Black without apology."
"Black Hypocrisy" is featured on her upcoming Captured mixtape dropping November 2.
