Of everyone affected by the death of XXXTentacion, it has arguably been the most heartbreaking to read Ski Mask the Slump God's reaction. On Monday, Ski was one of the first to jump to Twitter to state his disbelief at what had happened to his friend, praying that it was not true. As supporters of X's music continue to send their thoughts and condolences to the artist's family and friends, Ski can't help but dwell on a few things he wishes he could have told his "brother" before his passing.
XXX and Ski had an interesting relationship. The two were best friends as they came up out of Florida and seemingly went their separate ways, no longer focusing on their Members Only collective. Their reunion at Rolling Loud Miami this year was a heartfelt moment for everybody involved but Ski still feels a little guilty about not being truthful about how he felt towards his friend. He shared a screencap of their recent messages, writing atop, "I Wish I Told You How Much You Really Meant To Me More Often But Out Of Everyone You Knew My Pride Brings Me Down." Hopefully, Ski is not blaming himself for any of what happened. Through everybody's thoughtful tributes, X has shown to be even more of a positive influence on his peers than before, rising above hate to uplift his fellow musicians.
Slump God is planning to take over X's charity event that he was planning for this weekend, which was announced in the last ever addition to his Instagram story.
