Four months ago, we lost one of the most promising young talents in the music world when XXXTentacion was murdered in Florida. The day was shocking as we first heard reports of his shooting, praying that it wasn't true. A few minutes later, news outlets and blogs everywhere were informing people of his death as his peers, friends, family, and fans all reacted to the news. Ski Mask the Slump God was one of the first to speak out, hoping that everything was fake. Ski was a close friend of X's and although they had their differences at times, the two still shared a bond like no other. A third of a year has gone by and Ski is just as confused now as he was then, wishing he could bring his brother back. He decided today was a good day to remember XXX on social media.
Ski Mask brought out X to perform during one of his last shows at Rolling Loud Miami in May, leading to their public reunion. The "Catch Me Outside" rapper was feeling down today as he remembered it's been four months since his friend was killed, choosing to post a memory with him for all to cherish. The two performed together on stage on a regular basis and although their joint appearances dwindled near the end of X's life, the pair shares a large number of memories. Ski posted a photo of the two of them as XXX addressed the crowd.
It was reported earlier today that XXXTentacion will not be eligible to be nominated for "Best New Artist" at the Grammy Awards, despite his win at the recent BET Hip-Hop Awards. A hologram of the late artist was also spotted recently and fans aren't too sure how to react to it. Many are saying it's too a little too soon for that.
