Saweetie continues her rise.

Cali-bred emcee Saweetie has been garnering some well-deserved attention as of late. After breaking through with her “ICY GRL” single, the rapper went on to sign with Warner Bros. Records and dropped off her debut High Maintenance EP. Since then, she’s been making her rounds and her music has been wading into anthem territory for women everywhere.

Now, as the stock continues to Rise, Saweetie’s “ICY GRL” has officially earned a Gold plaque after pushing past the 500,000 mark in units sold. “ICY GRL is now gold & hit 50 Mil views,” the west coast upstart gushed in a Tweet. “Sometimes my life feels so surreal with everything that’s going on.. but it’s happening, and I want to thank everyone who has supported me!!!”

“ICY GRL” first found root as one of the many short clips that Saweetie would upload of herself rapping on Instagram as she delivered on a flip of Khia’s hit “My Neck, My Back” single.

As indicated, the song went on to be a hit for Saweetie, earning 50 million views to date on YouTube and even earned a “Bae Mix,” featuring a verse from Kehlani. The original track can be found on the track list to Saweetie’s High Maintenance, which is host to nine songs worth of a self-asserting summer soundtrack.
