Fresh off the release of his PRhyme 2 project with DJ PRemier, Detroit emcee Royce Da 5’9” is wasting no time in kicking off the campaign for his next solo album Book Of Ryan. Yesterday, he shared the artwork & tracklist to the 17-song project, and now today we’re getting the first single called “Boblo Boat” featuring J. Cole.

Named after the steamer boats that would take Michigan residents to Boblo Island Amusement Park, "Boblo Boat" finds Royce reminiscing & reflecting about his childhood over a jazzy instrumental from Cool & Dre and 808-Ray. "Nothing compared to our family trips/My uncle shook hands with a manly grip/All this hand-me-down shit I had, had an uncanny fit," Royce spits. "On the Boblo boat/On our way to that Black amusement park/Wood roller coasters, crack sold on plastic scooter carts/Uh, smoking grass at the vintage food court.”

Available now on iTunes, take a listen to the new pre-order leak and let us know what you think. Look for the song’s video to be dropping next week.

"Book of Ryan is my greatest piece of work," Royce said of his latest project. "I put everything I had into this album (spiritually, mentally, physically, and financially) and am excited to finally share it with the world. I hope you enjoy.”

Quotable Lyrics:

Twist the cap, lift the bottle back, swig it
Dig it, ten-inch rims on my mama’s Civic
Ten-inch woofers in the trunk, to be specific
They bump, rattle the license plate, plus the windows tinted
Don’t even give a fuck that it’s dented, bitch, I’m the man now
I’m rolling, driving it slow as if it’s stolen
Piling up bros like we was clothing on a dresser
Calling up hoes like we was Jodeci, let’s check her
