Jordan Brand has plans to release a "Rip Hamilton" Air Jordan 14 this Spring, celebrating the 20th anniversary of UConn's 1999 National Championship run in which Hamilton earned Most Outstanding Player honors.
The special edition Air Jordan 14 will reportedly look very similar to the classic "Candy Cane" colorway that Rip wore during his final season with the Huskies. Hamilton teased as much on instagram earlier this week, as he shared a photo of the iconic sneaker.
Hamilton led all scorers with 27 points in the 1999 National Championship game, as UConn defeated the Duke Blue Devils by the final of 77-74.
Nike has not yet confirmed official release details, but the colorway is listed as "White/Varsity Red-Metallic Silver-Black" which lines up perfectly with the Candy Cane XIVs.
It is believed the "Rip Hamilton" Air Jordan 14 will drop on April 6, which makes sense considering that's when the NCAA Tournament Final 4 teams are slated to square off in Minnesota. The kicks will retail for $190.
