The Recording Academy is certainly out to make this year's Grammy Awards ceremony its most memorable one yet. In a lineup that already includes the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino, viewers and attendeees will also get to see DJ Khaled, Rihanna, and Bryson Tiller take to the stage to perform their hit "Wild Thoughts" smash.
DJ Khaled announced the news Friday night via his Instagram page, shouting out RiRi and Bryson while also dropping off a very special hint.
"#FANLUV! IT'S GO TIME! I'm performing #WILDTHOUGHTS at the #GRAMMYS !!!! with the ICON @badgalririAND @brysontiller !!π₯π₯ @recordingacademy I'M so #GRATEFUL for this opportunity!!ππ½ππ½ #FANLUV the key π ππis - DONT STOP !!! I NEVER GAVE UP," he penned, before unveiling, "DID I TELL YOU I BEEN IN THE STUDIO?? π"
While none of the three artists lay claim to any nominations this year, the single's Platinum status in at least eleven different countries and its peak position at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 is more than enough reason for a live rendition at the 60th annual Grammy celebration as it serves as yet another piece of the larger picture in which Hip-Hop and R&B is seeing a significant increase of representation at the Grammys.
This year, three out of the five nominees for the coveted Best Album category fall within either category with Kendrick Lamar's DAMN., Jay-Z's 4:44, and Childish Gambino's Awaken My Love! all in the running. As far as other performers go, you'll also get appearances from Cardi B, SZA, Logic, BRuno Mars, and many more.
