After winning "Best Female Hip-Hop Artist" at this year's BET Awards, Remy Ma continues an outstanding re-introduction to the game. For her next project she hopes to tell her own story without all of the influences that other's try to force on her.
“When I did my first album, I felt like, ‘This is about me. I wanna do what I feel and what I want to do. I don’t want to conform to what everyone else is doing.’ With Seven Winters & Six Summers, it’s the same exact thing,” she told Rap-Up. “I don’t want to dwell on what people expect to hear or what people want to hear. I want to tell my story the way that it is.
Inspired by her time in prison Remy wants to truly explain her origins and what she's been through. “The people that want to hear that journey, from point A to point B, and the growth, I think that they’ll be very happy.”
"I’m just here,” she adds. “I go from day-to-day. I do what I do. I live my life. Some people are stuck in a time warp that keeps playing over and over like a bad day for them. I just do my thing. However, I feel that day is how I feel and it is what it is.”
Seven Winters & Six Summers is due out sometime next year, but an official release date has not been announced.
