The popular website is rolling out some new features.

Reddit has announced that they will be adding auto-play video advertisements on both their website and mobile app. The company will be introducing this new format with select partners, but will be opening up this service to any prospective advertiser later in the summer.

Visitors to Reddit will be allowed to turn-off the autoplay ads, with the company's VP of brand partnerships Zubair Jandali noting how they will be giving "users options on how to use them."

Reddit first began offering native video hosting in August of 2017, which has proved to be very popular amongst the website's large following, receiving twice as many views as embedded content from YouTube.

The company will be offering advertisers native video ads on a cost per view basis, whilst offering video-only campaigns for the first time. "This is adding to the utility that we offer marketers," Jandali reckons.
