Danny Brown couldn't help repost the screengrab for his own personal gain; Legendary Tribe member Q-Tip is working on a joint album with the Detroit native. Not only that but according to Exclaim, the legendary emcee has also tabled a collaborative project with none other than Mary J. Blige and three dolo records once that's completed.
Tip unveiled his plans piece by piece, revealing the Danny Brown venture during a spot appearance on Elton John's Rocket Hour show on Beats 1 radio. Within the breadth of the same chat, Tip revealed his plans with Mary J, but in lesser detail.
With consideration to past events and soundbites, it wasn't so long ago that Danny Brown dropped the bomb that likely preceded Tip's announcement when he told Complex that his follow-up to Atrocity Exhibition would be "produced by one producer, who's legendary in hip-hop. And it's gonna be a big deal." With respect to Q-Tip: that statement certainly checks out.
Tip's relationship with his radio host Elton John dates back to the latter appearing on A Tribe Called Quest's final album, We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service. Tip would eventually repay the favor by covering one of the Englishman's songs with Demi Lovato. His 3 solo project remain shrouded in secrecy, but perhaps a cryptic message relating to the projects was missed in translation. You can stream Elton's podcast at length right here.
