Eagles won't place franchise tag on Foles.

A Super Bowl winning quarterback is set to enter the free agent pool.

According to multiple reports, the Philadelphia Eagles have opted against placing the franchise tag on Nick Foles, allowing the 30-year old QB to sign with a team of his choosing during the free agency period.

Foles signed with the Eagles as an unrestricted free agent prior to the 2017 season, and spent most of that season on the bench while Carson Wentz lit the league on fire. However, Foles was thrust into the starting position for the final three regular season games and he went on to lead Philadelphia to a miraculous Super Bowl run.

Foles started the first two games last season before Wentz took over, but he was back as the starter for the final three regular season contests as Wentz nursed a back injury. The Eagles finished the year with a 9-7 record and defeated the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs, before being bounced by the New Orleans Saints the following week.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, one team to look out for is the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags reportedly hadn't shown much interested in trading for the veteran QB, but now that he's a free agent they could consider making an offer.

Philadelphia will receive a compensatory draft pick in a future NFL Draft once Foles does find his new home.
