Former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi signed a deal with Bare Knuckle FC just last month, and it appears he's already got an opponent lined up for his first fight.
During a Bare Knuckle FC media event Tuesday at Mendez Boxing in New York, Malignaggi got into a scuffle with Artem Lobov, who is slated to face UFC veteran Jason Knight this Saturday in Biloxi, Mississippi. The two came face to face and exchanged some words before Malignaggi slapped Lobov and vowed to put him six feet under.
“Next time it’s a harder slap! That was a bitch slap for a bitch!"
Check out the footage below.
There's certainly some history between the two camps, as Lobov is a longtime teammate of Conor McGregor. As you may recall, McGregor sparred with Malignaggi prior to his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather, and the photos that surfaced didn't sit right with Malignaggi. The 38-year old boxer has long been angling for a true fight with McGregor, but it looks like he'll have to settle for a match against Lobov instead. At least, for now.
The last time someone got in Lobov's face it was Khabib Nurmagomedov, and we all know what happened after that.
