Paramount is working to create a documentary that will explore the life of late Paul Walker. I Am Paul Walker will be directed by Adrian Buitenhuis and produced by Derik Murray, the duo who helmed I Am Heath Ledger.
The film will interview Paul's castmates, family and friends who knew him best, the producers tell Deadline. The doc will show his film career and his philanthropic work as he had a passion for oceans and marine life. The doc will also touch on his efforts to help rebuild Haiti after the tragic earthquake. More details on the cast will be announced in the coming months.
Paul died in 2013 when he was a passenger in his friends, Roger Rodas, Porche that crashed and went up in flames. Last October, his daughter Meadow Walker finally settled her wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche.
Meadow's lawyer, Jeff Milam, stated that even though Porsche knew “that the Carrera GT had a history of instability and control issues,” they “failed to install its electronic stability control system,” which they say is “specifically designed to protect against the swerving actions inherent in hyper-sensitive vehicles of this type.”
The case came to an agreed settlement for an undisclosed amount. In 2016, Meadow was awarded $10.1 million on behalf of Roger's estate.
