O'Shea Jackson Jr. is reportedly lacing up to join Jamie Foxx, Michael B. Jordan and Brie Larson in the upcoming drama, Just Mercy. The 27-year-old's role in the film has yet to be announced. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film follows the Bryan Stevenson memoirs of the same name, who later went on to form the Equal Justice Initiative that fights on behalf of the wrongly condemned and death-row prisoners trapped in the criminal justice system.
The film will specifically focus on Walter McMillian, a black man who was sentenced to death for a crime he didn't commit.
“I really needed a nice bring-in after Ingrid Goes West which was an indie film I did after Straight Outta Compton," O'Shea said of his first acting roles. “I wanted to get back to the big blockbuster you know, at least some sort of dramatic role. So Den Of Thieves gives you drama and action. [50 Cent and Gerard Butler] are in it so I felt like I was in good hands.”
O'Shea's also set to star in Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Den of Thieves 2.
