Oprah Winfrey is no rookie when it comes to million dollar cheques nowadays. The 65-year-old has secured her title as one of the best talk-show hosts to do it, building her impressive empire as an author, actress, media executive, producer and philanthropist. For the recent episode of her YouTube series for her self-titled magazine, Oprah answers questions from young girls who want to know how she lives her best life.
Oprah was asked what she spent her first million-dollar cheque on and it was none other than “really good fluffy” bath towels. “That is a lot of money. And the first thing I did when I got my cheque for a million dollars was I took a picture of it,” Oprah explained. “So there’s a picture of me holding the cheque for a million dollars.”
As for why she chose the bathroom necessity, she said: “I love great towels. Towels that are so big and fluffy that you can wrap your whole body in. I splurged on really good Ralph Lauren towels.”
Oprah even told the girls one of the most important things she's learned since being a "grown-up."
“I was in charge in my life, and that the best thing I could do ever is be a person who listened to what my heart said, listened to what I believed to be true, and not listen to everybody else's ideas about what I should do or who I should be,” she said.
