It was supposed to be a three-punch combo, with Quavo's Quavo Huncho and Takeoff's The Last Rocket acting as the opening jabs. Yet Offset, positioned to be the knockout uppercut, failed to show up on time; instead, his narrative shifted away from music, instead focusing around his complicated union with Cardi B. Afterward, the album (which may or may not be titled The Set Gala) was pushed back indefinitely, with many speculating a January 2019 release. Of course, the project is likely finished, and it's entirely possible that the minds behind QC are simply biding their time, hoping to capitalize on the ever-growing popularity of the Offset/Cardi relationship.
In any case, many have been curious about the upcoming music, especially given that Offset has teased a serious decrease in Patek references. While that in itself is a welcome surprise, one has to wonder whether the album will mark a major stylistic departure for the Migos rapper. Luckily, Offset has recently hijacked the AUX cord at a club, and proceeded to preview one of his new bangers for the masses.
While it's difficult to make out the lyrical content, the song itself certainly sounds like an extension of the signature Migos sound. Take from that what you will. Still looking forward to the project? Sound off below.
