Today is a sad day for the family of Daniel Shaver.

In January of 2016 former police officer, Philip Mitchell Brailsford took the life of Daniel Shaver in the hallway of a hotel when he fired shots at him while Daniel he was surrendering to his directions. Police were called to the Phoenix hotel after reports of someone pointing a gun out a window.

Just yesterday jurors agreed to acquit Philip, ending a six-week trial where the former officer was facing up to 25 years in prison for second-degree murder charges.

The video footage, that sees Daniel sobbing and begging for his life, has just surfaced online showing the minute Philip came in contact with Daniel to the second he was killed.

"There are no winners in this case," Philip's attorney, Michael Piccarreta, said. "but Mitch Brailsford had to make a split-second decision on a situation that he was trained to recognize as someone drawing a weapon and had one second to react."

An attorney representing Daniel's family called the tragedy an "execution" and said the "justice system miserably failed." You can watch the graphic video footage below. What do you guys think of the final verdict?
