Tickets for "Nipsey Hussle's Celebration Of Life" was sold out in a matter of minutes. The rapper's memorial service is set to take place tomorrow (April 11th) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles which has a 21,000 person capacity. Even with the large venue, many of his loyal fans still won't be able to attend. However, BET has offered a substitute for those who are either not in town or weren't able to get tickets.
BET Announced that they'll be airing Nipsey's memorial service entirely on BET and BET Digital starting at 1 p.m. EST. Marc Lamont Hill from BET News will host the event alongside music journalist Gia Peppers.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Nipsey Hussle,” said Connie Orlando, Head of Original Programming, BET Networks. “Nipsey is part of the BET family and first appeared on the Network in 2009 in a Hip Hop Awards cypher, we share this loss with his millions of fans around the world. From his insurmountable talent to his commitment to reaching back to underserved communities Nipsey’s kind spirit will be sorely missed. We will keep his entire family as well as our BET sister, Lauren London in our thoughts and prayers during this immensely difficult time.”
After it was announced the memorial service was sold out, a few people attempted to flip the highly-sought after tickets for upwards of $1,000. Ebay took it upon themselves to shut down anyone trying to sell the tickets on their website.
The Staples Center where Nipsey's service will be held was previously used for Michael Jackson's memorial service in 2009.
