In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 3, Jordan Brand is paying tribute to the man behind the design, Tinker Hatfield.
The "Tinker" Air Jordan 3, which draws on inspiration from Tinker's original Air Jordan 3 sketches, was officially unveiled last night at the "Future Of Flight" event in Los Angeles.
The kicks feature the familiar "Fire Red" colorway that was seen on the original Air Jordan 3 but there are a number of modifications, most notably, the black Nike swoosh across the upper. Additionally, the "Tinker" 3s feature light grey mudguards, black upper midsoles, grey “NIKE” text stitched on the medial side, and Tinker's unmistakable signature on the inside of the tongue.
The special edition Air Jordan 3s will be making their way to retailers on March 24th for the retail price of $200. Stay tuned for a list of stores that will have the kicks in stock as we approach the release date.
