Nicki Minaj's fourth studio album has reached platinum status. The rollout for Queen was immaculate, with several singles helping Minaj turn up the heat. "Barbie Tingz," "Chun-Li," "Rich Sex" featuring Lil Wayne, and "FEFE" with Tekashi 6ix9ine all helped propel the sales of Queen. Then, after Travis Scott's Astroworld beat Queen for the top spot on Billboard's 200 chart, all hell broke loose. Minaj took shots at Scott's retail methods, blamed Kylie Jenner and Stormi for helping boost Astroworld sales, and pulled the sexism card. It appeared that she felt robbed out of earning the number one album. The drama was unbefitting of a Queen, but now her hip-hop highness can feel vindicated as Queen has hit the coveted platinum mark.
Queen fell from the top ten spots on Billboard within its first five weeks. Released on August 10th, the album has been on the charts for 8 weeks and currently sits in the thirteenth slot. Scott's Astroworld has also remained on the charts, and sits a few places above Minaj's Queen in the seventh slot. Queen features appearances from Eminem, Lil Wayne, Future, Swae Lee, Foxy Brown, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and more.
