Nicki Minaj recently confirmed her relationship with this new mystery man she's been seen out and about with. Unfortunately, he hasn't won over the hearts of the Barbz. According to The Blast, Kenny Petty was not only convicted for attempting to rape a 16-year-old girl, but he also spent time behind bars for killing a man.
In a criminal complaint for Kenny Petty, it was revealed that he pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the shooting of a man named Lamont Robinson who later died in the hospital. Petty was originally charged with murder in the second degree, but he managed to cut a deal and bring the charge down to manslaughter.
In the complaint, it claims that Petty shot the Robinson “with a loaded handgin (sic) multiple times thereby causing his death" on April 27, 2002 at 12:30 a.m. At the time, a police blotter described that an unknown man got shot in the stomach three times and then died in a nearby hospital.
After Petty pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter in 2006, he was sentenced to 10 years behind bars. He served seven. The court records state that he came out of prison in May 2015. He was on supervised release for five years which ended in May.
Petty was reportedly convicted of attempted in rape in the first degree in 1995 after an incident that occurred the year prior. He was sentenced to 18 to 54 months in prison, but it's unsure how much time he actually spent behinds bars.
