Nicki Minaj is celebrating her victory at the Brit Awards. The rapper's collaboration with Little Mix claimed the trophy for Best Artist Video of The Year on Wednesday, February 20. Minaj was not able to attend the ceremony and was taken aback by the honor. She apparently became the second female rap artist to win a Brit Award since Lauryn Hill's pioneering achievement in 1997.
The good news didn't travel from London fast enough. The "Barbie Tingz" artist celebrated a couple of days after the event. She posted a photo of Little Mix cheering onstage on Friday. Her caption expressed wonder and gratitude. "When was someone gonna tell me?" she asked.
Although Nicki couldn't attend the award ceremony held at the O2 arena, Little Mix still offered a stunning performance of their hit single. They enlisted Ms Banks to step in for her fellow emcee. The choice was only natural, considering Minaj's admiration of the fresh talent. In 2017, she gave props to Banks via social media
“I’d had a show in Leeds the night before and I was waking up quite early to take a train back to London and I just saw loads of tweets saying congratulations and I just was really confused,” Ms Banks explained. “I saw a few tweets that had Nicki involved but I didn’t get it, and then I just saw she’d been quoting my lyrics and I couldn’t believe it.
