It’s been a long time in the making, but it appears we finally have a release date & title for Nicki Minaj’s next album. During her red carpet appearance at Monday night’s Met Gala event in NYC, Nicki spilled the news that her next album will be called Queen, and will be dropping June 15th!
“It’s a big night for me because I just let the world know that my album is coming on June 15, and it’s called Queen, and I can’t wait,” she told reporters. "Absolutely. I'm dressed like a queen everyday all day," Nicki added when asked if she was dressed like a "queen."
The project is currently led by the previously heard singles “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz,” both of which saw a pair of videos drop last week in its support.
During an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 last month, Nicki teased the title, saying “[Fans] are gonna love the title of the album. It fits everything that I am right now, where I am in my life.”
Queen will serve as the follow-up to 2014’s The Pinkprint, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Check out the album announcement (below) and look for more new music to hopefully be coming soon.
