After conferring with her fans yesterday after nixing a show due to technical issues, Nicki Minaj felt obliged to offer a more elaborate explanation for the mishap via Instagram. Incidentally, it was her "Barbies" Bratislava, Slovakia who bore the brunt of her technical troubles, even though she later addressed the situation in her native tongue, and with a general audience in mind - so she began..
"Gutted. Heartbroken. I can’t believe my fans sometimes. After waiting for hours & hours, they still tried to be understanding. Production was told the building does not have the power to facilitate my lifts," she explained, before listing all the departments affected by the outage: furniture, dancers, band, you name it, it went afoul.
"They’d get the show powered up then the breaker would basically trip after a few mins. Juice WRLD & I waited while they did this over & over for 3 hours. Some of my fans came from Austria, Nigeria, etc. I met w/a lot of them & they had the best, sweetest energy," she continued. "I’m so disappointed. Slovakia, I love you so much & I’ll do everything in my power to get back to you as soon as I can."
Nicki ended her plea with a promise to return to full strength for a scheduled performance in Poland this Sunday. Her "NickiWRLD" tour with Juice WRLD is barely in its opening stretch, with 20 dates remaining on the Euro-leg before both rappers return for North American duty, after which Nicki is expected to resume the course of her 5th studio album.
