Nicki Minaj went on a little rant about how people in the industry are molding the public's perception of her after the release of Queen. The rapper says she has "proof on that" even though she herself did not believe people were literally paid to "bully me behind the scenes."
DJ Akademiks might have seen himself in her twitter thread because the Queen artist commented on one of his posts, labeling his content as "FAKE NEWS." Since then, Akademiks has been posting up against the rapper. He first started by addressing the "FAKE NEWS" comment.
First, his approach was somewhat soft, simply reporting Nicki's own perspective:
"#nickiminaj says her total for “QUEEN” which right now says 190K first week isn’t accurate. She says wait till Sunday!!"
Then, he throws some slight shade by pointing out that both Travis Scott is also waiting for the final count for his Astroworld sales after merch/bundles:
"In response to Nicki Minaj... babe we don’t do fake news. However, your label and Travis Scott label are actively tryna contest and dispute what the normal reporting numbers are based on bundles and additives y’all did during the week to bolster sales. Still good numbers for you both."
