"These numbers don’t mean as much to the artist as they do to y’all," Grande tells fans on Twitter.

Pop music fans are more obsessed with chart placements and album sales than they've ever been, so it's no surprise that a few Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande stans had minor freakouts after a Nicki delay gave the two artists the same album release date. Fortunately, it seems that Nicki and Ariana do not share the concern of some of their fans.

Grande took to Twitter to set the record straight after some fans suggested that the two may no longer be friends and that Minaj's date change was a conscious move rather than an inevitable sample clearance issue. "jesus is this what’s going on today? imma jus stop logging in at all lmfao. that’s my fucking sister. she’s clearing a sample. buy and stream queen & sweetener aug 17 bye," she said. "these numbers don’t mean as much to the artist as they do toy’all. jus want y’all to listen to the project."

She went on to riff on a quote from Nicki's "No Frauds" verse, writing "me n nicki laughed at dat," at which point Minaj also chimed in. "I love this woman," she said. "Can’t wait for the fans to benefit from all the hard work on both ends. We love your passion. You guys will be VERY happy. Trust. That’s all I’ll say."

There can't be all that much competition between Nicki and Ariana considering each of them will appear on the other's album (Nicki is featured on Ariana's "The Light Is Coming" while Ariana is featured on Nicki's "Bed"). A sale for either artist is a win for both. Look out for Queen and Sweetener to see release August 17th.
